I just finished reading them all. Fantastic experience - one that my lacklustre writing skills couldn't do justice to. Much as I intend to make the effort to emulate some of the experiences outlined in the TRs, I can only recommend that you follow in my footsteps and get reading!

And I never realized there were so many TRs that I made. Some people bash the JET program but without it I never would have shared all these experiences.

No, I don't, thank you.

This folks is a fine example of
a) why we need to approve new members before they post (although even then it didn't help much here did it?)
b) why we don't allow PMs from the off;
c) some of the junk that we have to deal with on an almost daily basis;
d) a taste of what the Forums might be like if we let anyone post anything.
Roger_R here signed up and was approved a short while ago and then posted the above 2 sentences linked up to his spam site. He more likely than not had no intention of posting anything else on the Forums. Looking at the pages that he viewed backs this up - he arrived, posted his spam and then left. He probably won't even know that this has been edited, as he will more than likely be off to annoy some other forums to post his junk.
I thought I would just leave it here as an example. (Without the junk links of course).
Very annoying.
(Thanks to the few people who immediately let us know about it, appreciate your support).

Was his second post spam too? It is gone.
These kind of "stealth advertisers" really get up my nose!
Thanks for playing the role of Garbo SJ, and removing the trash!

The 2nd post was identical to the first post.
They were the only 2 threads he viewed - and littered.
(I deleted the other one and just left this to make the point!)

We find there are 2 main kinds of "stealth advertisers" - the ones like this that are almost random dumb one-off hits (this guy probably just cut and paste onto as many forums as he can, never to come back) and then there's the more intelligent, thoughtful, sneakier kind... the ones that claim total innocence when you take any action and are much more difficult to deal with. They are both extremely annoying in different ways.

What kind of action? Deleting posts or banning/deleting accounts (like we did with Roger above). Hardly exciting. Just time consuming and annoying.

I still think you should install the "Red Button".
Once pressed, all posts and account will be deleted and the violator will be banned.
Plus for a bit of an artistic touch, you can have a toilet flushing sound playing.

This morning we have moved over a number of Trip Reports from the main Snow Talk forum area into this section. There are going to be some we missed, and so if you find any more, please do PM or mail us to let us know and we'll see to it.
Thanks.
Thanks.
