boy says TV helped him survive
man killed in same avalanche
Location: Red Pine Chutes, The Canyons Resort, Park City, Utah.
Brief: Boy and his father were burried, father dug himself out and called for help. No beacons, probe line found the boy after about 30 mins. Discovered boy unconscious suffering from hypothermia. Another man died in the same avalanche.
Seems that this slide occured inbounds and ski patrol was on the scene in 4 min.
A teenage girl was handed a probe and put on the probe line, eventually ended up finding the boy.
Freaky! I don't know ANYONE that carries avi gear when staying inbounds all day.
