I think I have only turned the power off a few times, have it on standby all the time.
thurs, have you tried recharging via USB? It tells me "Not charging" though does seem to charge very slowly...

The battery on the ipad really is excellent, it lasts for so long. Very impressive. I just charge mine up using the mains adaptor thingy.

Home Theatre PC.
Its a computer that you connect to your TV and speakers and use to play movies, tv, music, ... surf the web and play not-hardcore games too I suppose. Generally small sized, audio component-like case, no fan noise, and with a simplified interface with a remote. Obviously its not portable like an Ipad, but for something used in a living room, it does far more, with less hassle if its file related.
You could use a Mac mini but it doesn't play Bluray. Dell make a windows-based one called a Zino. It looks great at Dell USA price but the Japan one is quite a bit more.

not exactly a gadget that. More like a home appliance.

That sounds like something you might get after the ipad.
How much do these things go for? Can't say it sounds appealing to me.

Not me. Not got a PS3 and not buying a separate player. If you're buying or building a computer though, its only few thousand yen extra compared to a DVD player. Might as well see what your telly can do.
I watch footie on Sopcast etc. so low quality is fine by me if its something I want to see. And don't want to pay for....

Watching footie on sopcast would drive me nuts.
If that is my limited experience of it is anything to go by - terrible quality, have to actually find it, suddenly cut off etc.
