Dear All,
As i am very confused with the maps and location of Japan, i really need your kind and helpful advise on which ski resort to go?
My husband and me are total beginners to skiing and we have never try before. I think i will be very afraid if the slope are very steep.. i really need your advise to tell me which ski resort to go (which is near to osaka) that is suitable for people who has never ski before.
Kindly please advise me which resort is near Osaka? And at where?
How long is it from Osaka to the resort? How to go there? which is the nearest JR station as i will be using the JR pass. Normally what is the cost for beginner course? we intend to go there only 1 day. How many hours should we ski?
I will be going there in late dec.
Your advise is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rebecca

All fair and understandable questions.
Sounds like you just want to try it out and see if you like it.
All I can say is that people have learnt on all places.
As to how long it will take is individual aptitude. How relaxed you are, your reflex, ever done skating, rollerblade, snowboard, surfboard, tight rope walking, Gymnastics, horse riding, bikes, etc...
Skiing is one of the easiest of sports to pick up, but don't expect to do what you see on TV right away.
But if you take a week, ski everyday, you will pretty much prepared to go everywhere on piste.
In one day ? just go on a weekday when it's not crowded.

try Hachi Kogen resort in Yabu - gun/ Hyogo there are busses from Osaka- the nearest station is Yono station - just think of Yoko Ono- Y Ono
It`s great for beginners - you will be able to find a foreign instructor when you get there -you should have a lesson for one hour-
the ski school is called active ski school they where red uniforms it
will be easy to spot them - have fun

Looking the resort listings down Hyogo way, most are closed, some are part open and not very many at all are open.
Don't hold out much for those places.
