Personally I would like to go there for about 4 days.

I must have spent a few hours at and around that top area taking photos, looking, walking up to the top to get a view over the other side and just generally enjoying being there.

Even with the 2 days or so skiing, we really didn't spend a huge amount of time in any one area and I could quite easily spend more time there as I still felt like I wanted more.

I would say it is a fair bit bigger, and for me better, than Nozawa.

The only thing I feel Zao lacks really is anything to do in the evenings apart from go up the mountain ( I wrote about that here )

That's my favorite too. Looks like it ought to be a Pink Floyd album cover.

This one is nice too, a peek at a migrating herd:

I always look at the hotels on SJ first but they were all booked for when we wanted.
Ended up at Zao Kokusai Hotel. My lady paid and booked it actually so I don't know the details but it was reasonable for a nice hotel. I think it was about 11000 yen per person. Really nice onsen.

No please tell me, what is so funny? It seems an obvious place to start which is all I am saying. And if I do find something I like and end up booking with one of those, I am helping support this site at the same time.
So whats funny?
