[muikabochi]

Here's a few photos from Hakkai-san today.

It started off fairly clear early on but soon clouded over and by 11:30am it was snowing lightly at the top of the mountain. It was very much a silver grey kind of day and almost black-white and so that's what I've done with a few pics today.

sanjo is here with me and wanting to post some stuff, so I'll get this posted and then over to him.

For those who don't know, it's in Minamiuonuma (just to the north of Yuzawa) in Niigata-ken. Here in fact:

There really wasn't much colour to see today Rob. It was a very silvery grey kind of day. That's why I put them all black and white, just thought I'd faff about and do something different.

Put the camera away after the first hour so could get on enjoying all that soft snow out there.

wow, lots of snow. Black and white is good to do when there aint much colour around. I think it works good.

Tons of snow here now.
Nearly 3m piled up on the roads close to my home now in some places.

Yes, near the top centre will be central Muikamachi.
To the left you can just about make out Ishiuchi Maruyama, Gala, Yuzawa Kogen and Kagura.

Yeah b/w often gives pics a certain feeling and probably good for a day like that.
Still generally prefer big vibrant colors though.
