Excellent, muikabochi.

What a wonderful advertisement for Hakuba (>> I realise it isn't meant as such, you know what I mean!)

Damn I deleted it by accident. I need to write it again.

Done that too many times :)

Nice to see those lines. Guess theres a notorious off piste hotspot in happo then? Much of a hike? I thought the ski patrol were nuts or is that only in goryu/47? Looks like its pretty easy to spot folks hiking to it (as well as seeing them ride it)... i might be imagining it but im sure they threw out a gate somewhere. Is this it?

Always a delight to get a new muika-report and this tops the lot.

Can you print some of those out big size? Some of them screaming out to be BIG.
Pies.

Wow what a difference the sun makes.

Great work again.

Where were those lines that run down from the ridge I can't remember seeing that.

Oh yes me too.
;)
That one in particular.
I was stood there for about 5 minutes waiting for someone to stand there in a good position, they weren't being that cooperative!

Looks like the scenery from Happoone is more dramatic than that from Goryu/47?
But very different from places I usually go, too, with those big bare faces.
Very dramatic.

There's more variation from Happo, I would say.

At the top of Goryu/47, the mountain scenery is pretty much all 'behind' and basically like this

Posted Image

From Happo, you have tons of views to the left which is this kind of thing (along with the above mountain behind Goryu/47 as well from a different angle):

and to the right from the top:

Both are beautiful of course, but for the views I would choose Happo.

I feel I need to add......

You need that top Grat quad lift to be moving to get up close to the views on the right hand side (unless you gnarliy hike naked of course).
It only opened mid-late January this season, that's why I mention it.

We are in hakuba from 12 march for a week. I can't wait!! What's the likelihood of more snow? Temps have been a bit mild for the last couple of weeks.
