A few photos from the first half of the day, taken from Iwappara in Yuzawa town.

Lovely weather. Snow was ok too. Fun was had.

Met a friend up there who invited me to move on to another place, that's in this thread:

If you go to Iwappara, these 2 quads are the lifts you will be wanting to use. The one on the left goes up to the top.

Loads of untouched on the right there in the area where the gondola used to be.

Is the Gondola still there by the way?

:friend:

Yes not steep but nice all the same.

The Gondola is still there, Saitama, but hasn't been used for a number of years now.

Beautiful.
But no helmets. :naughty:

I like that shot of the base area with 3 lift lines all at different angles.

Is there ever a time of day when the views looking south are clear?
Always seems to be hazy and I remember you mentioning that too muika.

Don't think so tokabochi.
The sun is always over there shining back towards the resort, so I can't recall ever getting really good contrast the other way. Perhaps better really early morning?

Thank you.

Iwappara, or Yuzawa as a whole?

Best classic Yuzawa views on a clear day are from Yuzawa Kogen I reckon, link in the first post in this thread. Definitely a place for a clear and sunny blue sky day.
