Danjp good luck. The Rodeomaster management are downright useless. Quite a few people have cancelled orders and not gotten their money back either. A number of them went to the cops and they, true too form, were good for nothing. Keep trying to ring the office you may get lucky and get through but ringing the warehouse is a waste of time as they just don't answer the phone.

Thanks Dougy.
I've been trying to ring every number but it seems that they just don't bother answering anymore. I actually went to the cops today but I don't know if they will be able to do anything.
The thing I can't believe is that the website is still up and it looks like you can still place orders and send them money... this is ridiculous.
Wouldn't Yahoo (who seem to be hosting them: http://store.yahoo.co.jp/rodeomaster/ ) have some mechanism in place to stop this kind of behaviour?
Dougy - I don't suppose you feel like paying the warehouse another visit on my behalf?

Hey Dan,
Do you read, or have someone who can read Japanese? If so then check out http://www7.plala.or.jp/daikou/naiyou/digest.htm.
Apparently, some people who have canclled orders have had their stuff arrive on their door-step, which isn't going to help you, and others like yourself have heard diddly. From the Japanese boards no-one who has canclled orders seems to have gotten their money back so trying naiyou might be your next step. I would've been happy to go back to the warehouse if you hadn't cancelled your order but they don't have any money there it's all handled by the office in Shinjuku. From what the warehouse manager told us last week they're not even answering calls from him so basically I'd be sticking with trying to find some legal recourse to get your money back. There's so many different stories going around it's getting impossible to know what crap and what's not. Good luck mate I hope you can get it sorted.
So for those who are just browsing this thread:

Hi Dougy,
Thanks for the advice. I've got someone onto that website.
I was toying with the idea of seeing if I could redeem my payment receipts for something else from the warehouse. I had ordered Burton pants and a jacket, and also some Oakley goggles. All up about Y53,000. I was thinking if I could get something else, maybe a board, then I might be able to re-sell it and only lose out on about 20% rather than 100% that I'm currently out-of-pocket. I'm actually leaving the country in about 8 weeks so I don't really have time to stuff around too much. Do you reckon that guy at the warehouse would be able to swing something like this?

Hey Dan,
I don't know mate, maybe, maybe not. I don't know how much leway he has. My wife and I are also off early April and really don't have time to get back out there now. I would have if we wern't having trouble with getting out car back to Australia but it's turning out to be very time consuming. I'm not sure what else you could do. Do you know anyone closer to Tokyo who could get out there for you? Sorry I can't be more helpful.

No worries mate.
I just posted the warehouse a letter (some special time-delivery thing) asking them to send me a Burton CustomX board or something instead of the gear I ordered. I don't know if I'll hear from them or not, but my Japanese friend seems to think it is the best thing to do.
I've been asking all my friends if they know anyone in Saitama but no luck so far...
Good luck with your car - I can imagine how much of a headache it would be!
Thanks for your help. I'll post again if something arrives on my doorstep!

Cheers Guys for this information about the warehouse. I ordered 60000yen worth of gear in sept, then got the usual fob off letters. I have written two emails in english and 2 in japanese to both rodeomaster and also Rakuten who were the original siteholders and got no reply. I have also written a letter to lifelines at the japan times which sometimes deal with problems relating to life here. Nothing yet but heres hoping.
I have one question though. Is Rakuten liable becos they were the original site holder?.
cheers guys

Hi uggggllllyyyy
Yahoo is hosting them now and Yahoo has a disclaimer stating that they are not responsible for anyone or anything that happens if you shop there.
Are you thinking about visiting the warehouse?

If there are a few people on here with problems with them maybe it`s worth getting a group of complaints together. They might have to take more notice of that.

Apparently they are a registered company but they went bankrupt at the end of last year. This means the police can't pursue a 'fraud' case against them. All you can do is write them a letter.
The Police are now investigating where all the money went from their accounts (bank and post office).

Hiya Danjp,
Cheers for the info on Rakuten. I am planning on hiring a car and visiting them with some other big mates and a baseball bat (only joking.....although?!?!). I was wondering if anyone had the address of the warehouse in Saitama. Just a postcode will do cos i can check on mapfanweb. I am sorry if this info has been posted before and I have just been blind and missed it.
Cheers for now

The address is 543 Minami Kawasaki Yashio-shi Saitama-ken. It's just up the street from Yashio-Minami High School.
Good luck. Make sure you take your recipt/order number and be nice. The guys at the warehouse are all just part-time employees and are just trying to do their job.

DOUGY!!!!......You are a star and if I ever meet you then you are in serious danger of getting a big wet sloppy one on the forehead!!.
Went to RODEOMASTERS warehouse in Saitama (Actually only just into saitama) and you are right they were very nice. Showed them my order email/number/gaijin card too and payment receipt and they gave me all my gear (board, bindings, boots and bag).... no problems.
If you are still waiting on stuff then I recommend going to the warehouse because they had bucket loads of stuff there. They do appear to be packing the gear up ready for sending out but they are in no hurry and its very laid back to say the least!. In fact there is even a sign looking for staff at 900yen an hr if anyone is interested. So if you want to wait then you might have to wait a while.
If anyone needs maps/bus directions etc etc then I can post them here.
Once again Dougy, cheers.
Off to try my new gear on the slopes on tom. national holiday.
Cheers for now

I got a complete refund today! I couldn't believe it. The cops rang my friend and said they had contacted the owner who promised to fix me up. I just asked for my money back and they transferred it into my account the very next day. I am very happy now.
