This is not meant to sound negative or anything, just want to get it in my mind. In an average/normal year, when abouts are the last big snowfalls of the season?

Depends where you go but probably mid to late march
And then it's the start of nice lazy spring skiing. Corn snow is so nice.

No backcountry skiing in the Tateyama area off the Murodo Plain
I do love the corn snow. But I'm hoping to get at least a few more days in the powder

Forgive my ignorance - can you explain 'corn snow'? And while you're at it ... 'bluebird morning'.

Corn snow is spring snow that freezes over night. If you hit it just right when it thaws you are skiing on little balls of ice that are about the size of corn. Very smooth and very fun. Almost feels like silk. I enjoy this time of year because it is very relaxing. No need to hurry for first tracks. Just fun in the sun with friends.
Bluebird morning is just a blue sky.

I am really exited about the coming spring as well.
I have lots of trips planned. Just hope the weather cooperates. Last spring it was always sunny during the week but then raining on the weekends. Well that's how I remember it at least.

Usually the last big snow is in March, and sometimes some more small snowfalls later on, if I remember correctly.
I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand.

There is still much time left I think so no need for worry.

Just as long as it doesn't start raining a lot, that is the real enemy.
