I'm off to fukushima to meet a friend in Feb, wondering the best places to go. He lives not too far from Bandai region.

How about Ura-bandai Nekoma or Inawashiro?

you should go to Gran Deco if it is snowing..(or has snowed in the days prior to you going). There is some great under the lifts and tree riding there..

I once went cross country skiing around Inawashiroko. Don't know about the downhill out there, though.

They are some of the more popular ones. Perhaps he'll be close to Alts Bandai, decent place.
music is only good if you like it

I don't reccomend Nekoma for boarders. It's either too steep or too flat. As Boardbaka said, I like Grand Deco. Bandai is good too. I really like the Fukushima snow. It's a higher elevation than most of Tohoku and it's far enough from Kanto that it's generally not very crowded.
Enjoy
