Fattwins booting up the icy ridge.
I like this picture because in the summer time I made a bet with my friend that I could get down this section of trail in 15 minutes. It took 20 but it was a really dusty, steep, loose, busy and easy walk. Now it's a don't slip scramble.

VEEEEEEERY nice! I'm jealous.

(A warmer bag will help, but also need a good quality mat and keeping your head covered - beanie.)

Hope you 'blokes' slept feet to shoulders?

I have a great matt that wasnt the problem, the problem was with the bag. I had a bag that was 0 to -2 or -3 but the temps dropped too much over nite. this time I have a really warm bag. Im gonna sleep like a baby for sure.

The company is one big pie, and if they’ve let me in charge of that one big pie, then I’ll be in charge of the pie, and the people are the fruit.

Snow camping - a worthy topic!

There's just something about being in a tent, snuggled up in a down bag during a -10C oyuki night - my dreams are exceptionally vivid - the senses - it's other wordly.

Split between two or more, the gear could be manageable.

I'd rather see rime ice on the insides of a tent than the insides of a hotel room.

just got back from round 2. 2 days of great skiing and 2 of rain. First line was epic 55 degrees chute to open face. Was amaching high speed GS run. A group of 10 J-Skiers Gave a a big hand for the line. The thrid line was really epic too but its time for bed.

Toque, nice pics. That's GREAT!
I would add some explanation.
http://www.geocities.jp/sntateyama/SnTateyama/Photo/Tate3peaks.htm
Tateyama(立山) is a group name of montains/peaks, usually a group of O'yama(雄山), Ohnanji-yama(大汝山), and Fuji-no-Oritate(富士の折立). When one says "Tatayama", it addresses O'yama, though Ohnanji-yama is the highest. The reason is that O'yama has O'yama Shrine on the top. The summer climing route to O'yama is shown in a red line, which people use in winter. Rohsoku-iwa(ローソク岩:Candle Rock) is standing just below the top. Yamazaki cirque(山崎カール) is a good terrain for skiers/snowboaders. It named with honoring professor Naomasa Yamazaki who issued in 1902 Japan Alps had had glaciers in old old time.

Ichi-no-koshi(一の越) col is the pass for Kurobe-ko lake(黒部湖). There are two routes of Oyama-dani valley(御山谷) and Tanbo-daira(タンボ平;田圃平). You can reach Kurbe-daira(黒部平) station or Kurobe-dam(黒部ダム) station. Oyama-dani route is harder and longer.

Advanced skiers can ski down to Kurobe lake side from O'yama Shrine, called Omae-dani(御前谷) valley route. It has very steep slopes/traversing, and is somewhat hard to find the way to Tanbo-daira. FYR.
