A new feature - "Winter Work in Hakuba (Interview with bettyx)" - has been put online.

"We spoke with Forum reader 'bettyx' about her experiences of working the winter season in Hakuba.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
In 2004, I graduated with a Masters’ degree from the University of Melbourne, after an undergraduate degree majoring in Japanese and English. When I was 18, I spent about three months traveling around Japan, and after seeing temples, shrines, volcanoes, monkeys and every type of onsen, I decided to head to Niseko Annupuri to learn how to ski again. Previously I’d skied as a kid at Falls Creek in Australia, an experience which did not prepare me for the endless powder, nor the milk ramen I discovered in the cafeteria..."

OK, now that I've checked out the picture, it sure looks very familiar.
Betty, was it the Mominoki you served at? I was there last Christmas with some other HK friends. We only had two dinners there though because Fattwins was busy showing us all the other yummy restaurants in Hakuba.
Fattwins do you remember?

Markie, yup, thats where she was. My mate went walking through with skiboots on and she busted us
Well, she just asked nicely to take the boots off.
Bettyx, can you make it to the party?
Nice read by the way - took me back to my season in Niseko
Now if I could just live closer to Hakuba Id never leave the country

Betty, great info in your interview!! I'm in Nagasaki at the moment. Should be in Hakuba to do the season in a week or 2. The bar job you had sounds perfect for me. Do you have the contact details of the snowboarding loving rasta, or the name of the bar?
