Hi -

I've always wanted to spend a whole season on the slopes, and this year is finally the year. I'll be in Japan on a working holiday for 18 months starting from mid-August.

I've read a lot of the threads on these forums, which have good information about getting jobs, but there's not a lot of information for people who can already speak Japanese.

Ideally I'd like to work at a PENSHON or a hotel for the season, or even something like a department store or shop. I was wondering:

a) If there are some people who have been in a similar position, whether they would be keen to share their experiences

b) Whether I should just apply straight to a Japanese PENSHON instead of one where English is spoken? Or perhaps my chances are better if I just turn up and start knocking on doors?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Just to let you know, we're currently putting together a feature about working at resorts/hotels, and hope that might be able to help. Look out for that next month.

Good luck.

great - thanks for letting me know. I figured I wasn't the only person who had tried something like this \:\)

I did manage to find a website which lists all the PENSHON at Hirafu.
