use the dynamic map with the time slider. overlap it with the freezing level. you get a brighter picture. but there is a 12 hour stretch in which we will have to cross our fingers and hope for cold air.

Check it again - according to the 3-day forecast yesterday, the Nagano / Niigata mountains will get 25-50 cms of snow over the next 3 days.

That'd be a start

Looks like the temp is about to drop dramatically over the next 5 days, by this time next week I expect things will look much better

Looking at the charts Jan 6 shows a huge front, does this effect flights into Saporro ?

Let's hope so. Today and tomorrow look alright, at least - what about conditions next week, I wonder?

Rain in Sapporo
Deep powder on Honshu

So you should be able to land in Hokkaido
Honshu on the other hand will be socked right in. Only residents will be able to ski \:D

Let's get some pictures up of people skiing...

We've got snow forecast for tomorrow and the day after I see... after that a bit of a mild period again, so hopefully it will dump enough to keep us happy for a while these next few days.
