Giving the first 2 Elbow albums a good listening too recently. Very laid back and 'down' but really getting into them.

Ordered the Cult's remastered and repackaged with 3 extra discs "Love" (obviously) and came yesterday. Couldn't ask for much more Love:
DISC 1 - LOVE:
Re-mastered from the original studio analogue tapes.
DISC 2 - SINGLES:
Featuring all the tracks from the album's three 12" singles which included extended versions of album cuts, remixes and non-album `B' sides. This is the first time all these tracks have been presented together outside of the limited, Rare Cult box set released in 2000.
DISC 3 - DEMOS:
Ten tracks were recorded in early 1985 as demos to play to potential producers. Mostly performed live in the studio, these raw versions are an insight into the genesis of the album and have never been released before. Additionally there is a bonus of a rough monitor mix from Olympic Studios of `She Sells Sanctuary' before new vocals and a remix were completed at another studio.
DISC 4 - 1985 LIVE:
Recorded on the Love UK tour by the BBC on 31 October at Hammersmith Odeon, London, this thirteen song set featured songs from the newly released Love album alongside established favourites from their debut release Dreamtime and earlier Death Cult days.
Always was a great album, still is. That tour was mad too.

Pretty wild mix!
"BIG BLACK - Live Jordan Minnesota" was pretty hardcore for it's time.
I have seen "HATEBREED I Will Be Heard" live and it kicks ass!
And "JANE'S ADDICTION Ocean Size" is clutch.
RAR!

Would like to give that a listen.
I liked it. Liked Electric as well, though may not have if I didn't already like them - they were on the road to becoming that 'hard rock' model of the Cult they became.
Funny though if you hear the first version of Electric which was recorded in a similar style to Love, think it was going to be called Peace, it doesn't sound as good as the actual Electric album which sounds very sparse but loud and powerful.
Ian Astbury is laughably silly though with his lyrics and awwwww's.

Probably has a lot of the same.. these comps seem to be churned out regularly. I haven't got a fair few of the ones on this one though.

Went to see a-ha last night in Tokyo. For those not sniggering, they were really good. They played a mix of old and new, the old ones getting a beefier modern sound. Morton was looking dreamboat-y as usual, very sexy voice. It's funny he comes across as almost shy, hardly says a word. The other 2 main guys didn't look shabby either. They have a drummer and a keyboardist/bassist backing them up there. Great concert one of the best I've been to I'd say.
