It was a nice morning and so I went out with a friend to take a look around a few local temples near where I live.

Absolutely no-one about and was able to take a few photos.

The temples are called Kankou-ji (actually near the Ishiuchi Maruyama skijo) and Yakushou-ji (near Shiozawa)

They werep planting rice around where I live before May arrived. Golden Week is usually the start around here. I suppose down in the Yuzawa/Muikabochi area it is around now.

I would say most of the rice fields around here are planted now, but they are all busy out there getting it all done.

Like that first one, took a bit to work out what was going on!



I bet places like that look good in mid-winter when there is loads of untouched snow around.
