muikabochi SJ'er with 2000+ posts Registered: Sat Nov 13 2004 Posts: 2076 Loc: Muikamachi, Niigata	Good timing with the fine sunny weather today, so it was time to get out and about and have another trip round the area visiting some of the shrines and temples. These are 3 places within 25 minutes of where I live - in Koide, Urasa (Uonuma city) and Hakkaisan (Minamiuonuma). That shrine in Hakkai-san is well worth a visit too. Urasa Bishamondo is where they hold the famous "naked man" festival in March each year, for those interested!

The Hakkai-san temple is on the other side of the mountain from the ski resort, but still only about 20 minutes or so away.
