I agree too! I loved the region, just wished I couldve spent more time up there! Sooooo many onsen (konyoku too wink ), excellent sake, very temperate and not much humidity!! 9 out of 10 stars.

Still planning mate.
But it will rock.
It will involve Narita and then heading north into Tohoku basically.
Even looking forward to the travelling around to get to all these new places.

If Fukushima > Aomori is "Tohoku", what is the same kind of region just to the south called? (ie Niigata, Gunma, Saitama, etc). Is there a word for that chunk?

I also love the Tohoku region - I'd say my favorite part of Japan throughout the year. I know the northern part best (not really up on Fukushima and Tochigi) but Aomori, Akita, Iwate... fine areas.
