Places to Stay http://www.snowjapan.com/e/hotel/index.html Here's what has changed: The page has been completely redesigned and coded, so it all looks new (and is improved 'behind the scenes'); For the regions that have more listings, we have colour coded the areas of the region to show general location as well as noting the nearest resort; Those regions also now have simple maps (appearing in popup windows) that show those colour coded areas to make it clearer where an accommodation is located; We have added some simple introductory information about each region; The page now includes direct links to the 'photo pages' for accommodations that have them (this page is optional for all listings); We have added some useful links for each region that allows readers to easily find more information about the regions; We have also completely changed and added new regional pages (see below). The details page for each of the accommodations listed on the site has also had a freshening up. An important other addition today is a page that explains a bit more about the Places to Stay section on SnowJapan... About our Places to Stay listings http://www.snowjapan.com/e/hotel/about-places-to-stay.html We hope that the above page answers some common questions and comments that we often hear about our listings. Here are some of the important points: SnowJapan is not a travel agency and we do not deal directly with hotel bookings or enquiries - our listings are simply introducing accommodation to our readers; SnowJapan does not own and is not affiliated with any of the accommodations listed in our Places to Stay section; SnowJapan is not in the business of trying to promote any one particular region of Japan over another. The fact that there are more listings for one region than another is probably a good indication of the general popularity of the regions as well as the number of accommodations in that region that are actively trying to reach the non-Japanese market. More here. About coverage Some regions are obviously more popular and/or well-known than others. There are many regions of Japan that have fantastic winter sports resorts that we do not yet cover with accommodation on our Places to Stay section and we aim to try and change that in the coming months and years. There is certainly the demand for information on accommodation in other areas and we would be very happy to welcome additional regions not yet covered. If you have suggestions of hotels that you think might want to be listed on SnowJapan - both in regions that are not yet covered as well as those already covered - please do let us know at the usual address. We are currently working on some other further improvements to the section and we hope to have those online by late September. Hope you like it.
