What does 'och eye the gnu' mean anyway? TBH I don't know, its just one of those stereotype sentences that we Scots "Always" say. I've never heard of anyone actually saying it. I'll take a stab at it though..... "Och aye.." means "Oh Yes" "The noo..." means "now" so I'd guess it means "Oh yes (I'm fine) right now". Possibly after being asked how your are doing, otherwise it means "Oh yes right now", which has no meaning
