Read this lot with interest. I'm thinking about buying a DSLR and I was going to go for the D90 but thinking about perhaps going for the D300 instead. Part of me is "go for it" the other part is "nope don't need that". Which will win? We shall see. What you reckon?

I would go with the D300 if I can afford it. Like to always go with the best viable option open to me.

go for the D700. No need to stay on DX anymore. I haven't looked into that model at all, but would it be silly to use it if you have DX lenses?

Was looking at Kakaku dot com at the Nikkor 70-200mm F2.8 and was surprised to see such a huge difference between prices on there. Cheapest is like 16man, and the most expensive is 28man. Theyre all new, so how can there be such a price gap between them?  Do some shops get more of them so they can price them cheaper as theyre selling more? Are some shops just greedy? Wassup with that?!?!
