yeah the cost is the thing though, and I am restrcited by time in Japan. I have to get it before I leave next April, cos Aus is much more expensive. Does the d300 have the remote?? (can check myself, just being lazy)

i believe the d200 has the gps capability. you need to buy the gps though

yeah ok, but it's an extra plug in (maybe wrong way to say it) right? Not a simple little thing like the other models have. At least that's what I thought Ken Rockwell said on his site.

I really like that lens. You can get up close and also really wide at the same time.
My macro gets much closer though.
