Why? Ali has dementia and numerous other neurological problems caused by being beaten about the head. How's he "liven things up"?

No, I'm talking about Mohamed Ali - OK, USED to be Cassius Clay but legally and professionally changed his name. At least I've heard of both his names, who/what is this other "dude" (I guess that means person? why not use the perfectly good word we already have instead of inventing another one?)

but what does the "dude" (or "dood" if you prefer - trying not to be argumentative here ) mean?? Why not just use the existing words person, man, woman, etc?? Why invent another one?

OK, the concept of a person already existed. I can understand a new word for something new - such as computer, laptop etc as the things didn't exist before.
Change is not always improvement!
