I was going to ski on Norikura yesturday (Gifu/Nagano) but the road never opened. It usually opens on the 15th of May every year but remained closed yesterday because of severe blizzards and avalanche danger.

Montoya also reported a load of new snow falling in the Karasawa Valley early last week near Kamikochi.

Anybody with the experience and the time can still get some good snow if they are willing to try

Now it's sunny out \:\( and I can saddly look out on the mountains with their fresh snow and dream of skiing them in 5 days time \:\( I hate mondays

Well Yama it's not that you can't ski anymore
Cause you can
It's more that it is to difficult to get to the snow living where you do

I know. But, its nice hearing bout all your wicked adventures with FF. Would love to get some of those lines in that yall did but need to get some touring gear setup on my Launchers. Think the goal for next season will be to get some Diamars put on my launchers and buy some skins. Then switch my rossi free rides to my powder hunters.

Anything bad about changing bindings from ski to ski mate?

your markers are fine mate, sell the heavier rossi bindings to pay for the diamirs.

switching binders wont be a problem.

Just went out to look at the mountains and saw that the tops are all covered in a nice dusting. Probably fell Tuesday afternoon/evening.
Seems that it fell down to about 2500 metres.

I have a cold so I'm just going to do a day trip up on Norikura to get a few runs in.
But it would be nice wouldn't it.
