after the test they gave me some feedback but at this time i didnt know if I had passed or not. As a group of 4 we went back into the school waited about 20 mins then told we had all passed. Then the paperwork started...it took about 1 hour in total.

The things I'm most worried about are:

- forgetting the correct "course" on the day. For all the faffing about on details we have done, I haven't done many run throughs of it yet, and have only 3 hours lessons left. There's 2 variations and they only tell you which one to do at the time of the test.

- the fact that they don't give you any kind of warm up on the day. Nothing at all. It seems really crappy for the sake of being crappy that does to me - just give me one run through please.

I'm pretty handy at ipponbashi though.... consistently 12+ seconds.

(You need to be over 10 seconds to not have points decucted. And fail if you fall off).

Got to stay on it and finish it without falling off the side, in 1st gear, and stay on for more than 10 seconds.
Less than 10 seconds and theres points decucded.
Fall off the line and your test is finished!

Yes just a raised square beam that you drive across with a small slope each end.
Both easy and difficult, depending on your balancing luck on the day.

Snow glorious snow! I have snow time to waste I'm off to play in the snow!

Well, not really, it depends on your skill level.
Luck only comes into it if you aren't much good and don't know how to control the bike.
At first I had big problems with it.
The last 50 times I have cleared it without any problems.

It all sounds like a lot of fun actually this lot.

Are bikes generally cheap here in Japan?

It's not cheap and it's a committment with time as well but... I have really enjoyed it.

After being very sceptical, I can actually see now why there are so many lessons - I'm a decent bike rider I reckon now! Fit to be on the roads. Which is more than you can say about some punks back home! There's plenty of time to get your own habits once you're out there but going out there as a solid and technically decent rider can't be a bad thing.

I'll no doubt get annoyed if I fail for some silly reason, but hoping I can get it done in just one test.

Stem can show you the appropriate bow and deferential way to say "hai" ;)

I haven't had any of that (yet) by the way, mine has been almost all practical. ;)

Maybe I'm in for that lot in the last lesson!

How are they made? Are they designed at some emoji central holding and websites use their code….pay for new ones….or do the websites themselves have to make them up?
