Earlier Radiohead.

Got a bit strange and tuneless for me in the last 3 or so albums.
The company is one big pie, and if they’ve let me in charge of that one big pie, then I’ll be in charge of the pie, and the people are the fruit.

New Linkin Park album. Much heavier and rawer than their last few.

Here's the lyrics

1,2,1,2,3 go
clap your hands
sleep
wave your hands
hitch a ride
sneeze
go for a walk
lets see you swim
now ski
spray
macho man!
sound your horn
ring the bell
ok
kiss
comb your hair
wave your hands come on wave your hands
SUPERMAN!
wooooo

clap your hands now your looking really good
now you've got the hang of it were gonna do it one more time
were gonna do it again

sleep
wave your hands
hitch a ride
sneeze
go for a walk
lets see you swim
and ski
spray
macho man!
sound your horn
ring the bell
okayyyy
kiss
comb your hair
wavewave your hands
SUPERMAN!

ok clap your hands
lil bit louder
now clap your hands and bend your knees with the music
right now what were gonna do now, now you've really got the hang of this
were gonna try this one more time but a lil bit faster
ok

sleep
wave
hitch a ride
sneeze
walk
swim
ski
spray
macho!
blow your horn
ring the bell
okayyyy
kiss
comb your hair
giv em a wave
SUPERMAN! woah!

there's a film out soon calld distortion of sound, about how compressed mp3sand the loudness wars have really spoilt lots of music recently.
Looking forward to seeing that.

I thought it was going to be longer than 22 minutes!

But quite interesting all the same

I want my hi-fi! I really do think many (most?) people simply don't know what they are missing listening to rubbish file formats all the time.
That is sad.

Since we don't have them in Japan, I don't know about streaming services like Spotify and their sound quality, but I suspect it's going to be crippled for DRM reasons. To stop people recording it and getting a perfect copy that the music industry still wants people to pay for. It won't be for "convenience" and it certainly won't be consumer driven. The video and audio file formats supported by Ipods weren't chosen by consumers.

When I was young, everyone got into the Smiths because John Peel and Janice Long played them in mono on AM radio, which is way worse than mp3s. Radio 1 only started on FM in 1988. Everyone had a record player, but most of them were shit to be honest, made by such audio behemoths as Amstrad and Binatone. So the average person listening to music on poor equipment is nothing new at all.

I thought the problem with music today was to do with "loudness", producers making tracks sound louder so that they stand out. That's the music industry's doing, not Itunes or Amazon's or Spotify's. I also think that a lot of genres have simply run out of ideas, in the same way as jazz or country and western did many years ago.

Good points, Mr Wiggles. But still.

Loudness is part of the problem yes and robs people who even have the decent equipment from hearing what they should be. :grandpa:
